Lessons from a Coach to a Future World Champion

Long before Keith St. Onge became a World Barefoot Champion, his coach, Swampy Bouchard, shared three lessons in a letter he wrote to Keith:

As you move ahead with your skiing always remember the big three:

1. Focus–set your sights on your goals and never take your eyes off of them.

2. Head–always ski with control and consistency, and always stay level-headed. Be honest with yourself at all times.

3. Heart–always ski with passion and hunger. Always strive to be better at all times. Take no shortcuts!

If you always abide by these rules, then there’s no doubt in my mind that you will be the best.

Success or failure is not dependent on chance or luck–it is largely a matter of decision. Failures in life have invariably wished for success. Successes in life have decided and acted.

Love ya,
